75 Years of Emma Sansom

Rebel Pride!

Recently, Emma Sansom High School celebrated 75 years of Rebel Pride with a giant block party on Wall Street in Alabama City. Due to the upcoming consolidation of our city�s three high schools, this is the final year of existence for Emma Sansom as a high school. The block party was a final hurrah for Emma Sansom Alumni and their friends and family. As a part of that celebration, I featured a couple of special interviews on the Big WAAX Morning Edition. Steve Ellis Memorial

Recently, Big WAAX listeners were asked to contribute to a special fund created by Carl Brady as a means to pay tribute to Mr. Steve Ellis by placing much-needed computers in the VLS (Varied Learning Styles) classroom at Coosa Christian Elementary School. Mr. Ellis was the VLS instructor at Coosa who recently passed away after a bout with cancer.

WAAX radio listeners were very generous and gave a total of $555 toward the fund. Ronnie Watkins, of Ronnie Watkins Ford, chipped in a $500 matching donation to give us a grand total of $1,055!!! MaxHub Computers also pitched in and donated a complete, refurbished computer system, so on Thursday, February 16, Carl Brady and Ronnie Watkins made a special presentation to school officials during the elementary chapel service.
